Cornwall Experiences and Things to Do in Cornwall

Cornwall, the most south western point of the UK, is home to some of the most impressive countryside and moorland in the world. With a 433-mile coastline (the longest in Britain!), Cornwall is an ideal destination for family outings, water sports, and discovering the fascinating history of our country’s heritage. The area has a distinctly rural feel, making Cornwall a favourite getaway spot for couples and groups of friends looking to escape the hectic city lifestyle. Be warned though, once you’re there you might not want to leave!

For April, the latest Experience Days for Cornwall Experience Days include, Bude Canal Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Bude Beginners Surfing Lesson, and Cornwall Coasteering Experience.

What is There to Do in Cornwall

Unique Gifts and Days Out in Cornwall

Cornwall is a haven for adventurers and adrenaline junkies; the rugged coastline is perfect for canyoning, and the endless beaches boast some of the best waves in the country, attracting surfers from around the globe. Try surfing in Newquay, have a go at stand-up paddleboarding in Perranporth, or discover blokarting in Penzance – you’d be surprised at the number of water sports that can be invented using just a board or a sail! For all the thrill seekers out there, Cornwall offers extreme coasteering experiences to combine cliff jumping, rock climbing and cave swimming for the ultimate adventure day. You can even head to The Lizard for a unique spearfishing experience – how many people can say they’ve done that?

If style and luxury is more your thing, then you may want to see the sights from a hot air balloon, or hire a supercar and explore the roads at your leisure. Poldark fans can visit set locations and famous spots like Caerhays Castle, Porthcothan, and Godolphin House and Estate, whist Doc Martin followers can explore Port Isaac to get truly immersed in the show. Cornwall is beautiful throughout the year, so don’t be put off by the abundance of water sports – it’s an ideal winter destination too! Cornwall is one of the best ‘staycation’ destinations in the UK, offering experiences and activities perfect for family bonding or romantic escapes to the countryside. Warm yourselves with a traditional Cornish pasty or indulge in a clotted cream afternoon tea, there are endless ways to relax and unwind in beautiful Cornwall.

When you’ve had your fill of cakes and pastries (if that’s possible), you can while away a few hours discovering the rich and fascinating history of this great county. For example, did you know smuggling can be dated back to 18th century Cornwall? Picture scenes of regal ships, fluttering flags and fearsome pirates – this is the kind of history even the kids will love! Very little of the landscape has changed over time, so there are plenty of caves to explore and beaches to sink your toes into, or you could hire a boat and recreate famous pirate expeditions. Whatever you choose to do in Cornwall, you’re guaranteed fresh air, incredible views, and the chance to make lifelong memories!

Many thanks to John my instructor and the team at Skydive London. Very professional and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I bought this as a birthday present for my boyfriend. On the day, although there was a lot of waiting around, the instructors were great and my boyfriend loved the jump! Would recommend (especially for this price!)

I am glad I did it but will never do it again. I started to feel nauseous a few minutes before the jump (not helped one iota by one of the instructors on board the flight having a bad case of foul smelling flatulence - very unpleasant)....
I am glad I did it but will never do it again. I started to feel nauseous a few minutes before the jump (not helped one iota by one of the instructors on board the flight having a bad case of foul smelling flatulence - very unpleasant). Once the canopy was deployed after the jump my nausea just got worse and stayed with me all the way down - I was terrified I would be sick (which is a huge phobia for me!!) Added to this the canopy strings had become twisted and my tandem buddy had to jerk around to sort - all was well. The jerk involved on deployment of the canopy caused my harness to tighten quite harshly which was massively uncomfortable. The net result of that was my legs then started to become numb and when it came to the landing I struggled to lift my legs and after landing had to sit for a few minutes as my legs felt so weak and wobbly. The nausea didn't leave me until very late in the evening (I actually jumped around midday) and I have very unattractive bruising in the groin/upper thighs because of the harness. Not the best of experiences :-( Redlands Airfield and the staff however were all lovely.
