Kite landboarding has to be the most rapidly growing Power Kiting sport yet. It offers all the thrill of kitesurfing without the need to get to the coast, and the extreme rush of snowboarding without the need for snow or freezing temperatures! Landboarding can be carried out with equal success on sandy beaches or grassy fields, or simply in your local park; this is an extreme sport that has the huge advantage of being readily accessible. This one day introduction to landboarding is a fantastic and informative course that will teach you all the kite and board skills required to get on the board, control the kite and get moving...and perhaps even jumping! Landboarding is an exciting, affordable and fun sport that will keep you absorbed as long as there’s a breeze. Do things you never thought were achievable while spending a day on the beach - it truly is the most awesome rush and has to be experienced to be believed!You will start your day with a short Safety & Site Assessments before being familiarised with the equipment . You will be shown how to control a powerful kite with ease, and start to build the skills you need to control the kite as well as a landboard in unison.Then it's onto the board and time for the real fun to begin! You will learn all about moving, steering and stopping, basic board control, landboard maintenance and riding across the wind. The course will also cover kite relaunch, speed control, weather awareness, site selection and safety awareness. This exciting and instructive one day course will teach you all the kite and board skills necessary to become a smooth and confident landboarder, as well as the tricks of the trade you need to take your riding to the next level!
Landboarding in Weymouth is available 7 days a week throughout the year, providing the weather allows.
There are no requirements regarding maximum size but you need to fit into a harness. If you have concerns regarding this then please do check with the centre when booking. The minimum age is 18, or 12 - 17 if accompanied by a parent.

Group sizes vary but will usually be 2 - 4 students per instructor. Friends and family are welcome to come and watch but please find out from the instructors as to where the safest place to stand is.
You should wear a study pair of shoes (with no hooks), long-sleeved tops and trousers that you don't mind getting dirty! All other equipment will be supplied - this includes kite, board, harness, helmet and pads. During warmer months, you should bring sunglasses and sun cream. It is also advisable to bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
Landboarding is weather reliant as you need wind in order to move. It is advisable to call the centre either the day before or on the actual day of your course to check that your lessons is going ahead.
