At just 60 minutes away from London, Redlands Airfield in Wanborough has been offering 10,000ft tandem skydives for over 6 years now - and has become one of the fastest growing drop zones in the country. With an experienced instructor strapped to your back, you are free to enjoy the most incredible journey back to earth - at 120mph.Your Tandem Skydive experience in Wiltshire will begin with a registration session, filling out the forms and watching a video on the safety and techniques regarding free fall and parachuting. Then, once briefed you'll be ready to don the safety gear and hit the practice mats for some practical demonstrations, such as where to put your hands, legs and head during the skydive. Then, once fully briefed - you'll make your way to the runway with your instructor and climb into the plane to sit in rows ready to jump! Sat between the legs of your instructor attached to his chest by your back, you and your fellow drop-zoners will be eagerly awaiting ascending to the desired where the hatch will open. Once open, you will shuffle up one by one, dangle your legs over the edge and drop 5,000ft reaching terminal velocity of 120mph - before the instructor deploys the parachute and you enjoy 6-7 minutes of gently floating back to earth. Once landed, you'll be presented with a certificate and will be free to go home once you've taken the safety gear off!

What to wear

You can wear comfortable and casual clothes for your skydive with Skydive London, as you'll be wearing the safety equipment supplied.

This will consist of: Jump Suit, Cap, Goggles & Gloves.

In the cold winter months it is recommended you and your spectators wrap up warm, as standing around outside and leaping out of a plane at 10,000ft can be rather chilly!

Skydiving in Wiltshire is weather dependent.

If the rainfall is too heavy, the winds are too strong or the visibility between plane and ground is poor - your skydive may be delayed. In a lot of instances, this will involve standing around at the clubhouse of Redlands Airfield. However, if the weather conditions are unworkable - your Swindon skydive may be rearranged for another convenient date.

Swindon Tandem Skydive

I am glad I did it but will never do it again. I started to feel nauseous a few minutes before the jump (not helped one iota by one of the instructors on board the flight having a bad case of foul smelling flatulence - very unpleasant). Once the canopy was deployed after the jump my nausea just got worse and stayed with me all the way down - I was terrified I would be sick (which is a huge phobia for me!!) Added to this the canopy strings had become twisted and my tandem buddy had to jerk around to sort - all was well. The jerk involved on deployment of the canopy caused my harness to tighten quite harshly which was massively uncomfortable. The net result of that was my legs then started to become numb and when it came to the landing I struggled to lift my legs and after landing had to sit for a few minutes as my legs felt so weak and wobbly. The nausea didn't leave me until very late in the evening (I actually jumped around midday) and I have very unattractive bruising in the groin/upper thighs because of the harness. Not the best of experiences :-( Redlands Airfield and the staff however were all lovely.

I bought this as a birthday present for my boyfriend. On the day, although there was a lot of waiting around, the instructors were great and my boyfriend loved the jump! Would recommend (especially for this price!)

- Swindon (Redlands)

It was all very professional. The instructors put everyone at ease. I really enjoyed the experience and I'm even thinking about doing it again. I never thought I would say that!

Was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend this centre and the staff. Had a brilliant time - thanks!

Everything as excellent, very professional, instructors were brilliant, and I even had the unexpected opportunity to buy a cd with some decent photos at the end. only thing that tainted the experience was the wait, arrived at 12ish to jump at 4ish, on a clear weather day, this is the only thing that puts me off rebooking anytime soon. Aside from that the experience was awesome, thanks.

Was an absolutely amazing day. The staff made the experience very special.
