Get in the saddle with this beginner’s horse riding lesson in Southampton. Set in a peaceful, rural part of Hampshire, this riding lesson will give you all the instruction you’ll need to get started with this exciting sport. Your introduction will be for 30 minutes on a mechanical horse for practice, followed by 30 minutes on the real thing! Your day ends with lunch from the on-site café.

You will begin by experiencing the motion of horse riding - walking, trotting and cantering - on the cutting-edge mechanical horse at the stables. The mechanical horse will simulate the movement of a real live horse, meaning you can learn how to ride and gain confidence while in a completely controlled environment. After this you will move on to a real horse, to practice what you have already learned. All sessions are taken by fully qualified BHS instructors.

As the session draws to a close, the experience is then followed by lunch on the onsite café. This beginners lesson is perfect for newbies wishing to try their hands at horse riding!

Hilarious!

My sister surprised me with this Horse Riding Lesson in Hampshire and I was beyond thrilled! I haven't ridden a horse since I was 13 so I was excited to see if I could still perform a rising trot. We made our way to the reception and enjoyed a hot lunch as we overlooked one of their horse arenas. Once our instructor came and collected us we went to the mechanical horse room to see the standard of our horse riding ability. Seeing my sister on the cantering mechanical horse was one of the funniest moments which I will always remember! We were in hysterics. When the initial shock was out of our system we focused on our posture, and watched the screen record our balance and seating position in the saddle. The time then came to mount a real horse! Hugo was beautiful and I felt a lot more confident having been on the machine before. A Brilliant experience that I would recommend to anymore wanting to try their hands at horse riding!

Horsey Day Out!

My friend and I had never horse ridden before and were pretty nervous to have a go! But after a warm welcome from the team, a delicious included lunch and some extremely friendly horses, we were put at ease. Our lovely instructor first took us to have a go on a mechanical horse so we could get use to the sensation! A screen told us how we could strengthen our core and sit better in the saddle for a more comfortable ride. Onto the real thing we began trotting gently round the room followed safely by the instructor. Once we had gained confidence, it was up to us to have a go! I can't wait to return for a more advanced lesson!
