This is as much an art class as it is a cookery lesson, as the skills and techniques involved in pasta making are precise and tricky to master - but when you do, you'll never want to eat dried pasta again! Using various types of flour, pasta shapes and delicious sauces, the Half Day Pasta Making Course in Devon is a great introduction to perfect pasta.
The two and a half hour class begins on arrival at the kitchen, where you'll greet the rest of the group and be introduced to the head chef leading the session. After a briefing on what you'll be learning throughout the half day, the lesson kicks off with demonstrations on making pasta by hand and by machine - then it's your turn to get stuck in! You'll learn all about the different types of flour used and which flour is best for which pasta, the best rolling techniques, pasta shapes including tagliatelle, spaghetti and ravioli, and the best sauces to match your homemade pasta. The feast finishes with 'Oreillettes with Monbazillac' which are deep-fried sweet pasta shells, accompanied by an indulgent glass of dessert wine.
This class is ideal for food lovers and those looking to improve their cookery skills, as it will teach you a host of useful tips and tricks to replicate at home. A great experience gift for foodies, the Half Day Pasta Making Course in Devon is one not to be missed!
