Join professional cook Sharmini, who has been teaching Indian Cuisine for over 20 years, for an immersive introduction to Indian food during this half day course in York!

The kitchen in New Earswick is fully kitted out with traditional utensils and equipment, so you can get stuck right in upon arrival once Sharmani has given the initial briefing. With a variety of dishes on the menu, you'll be guided step-by-step through the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of each element until the kitchen is full of the wonderful aromas associated with Indian cuisine. Spice mixing is a fine art that shouldn't be underestimated; these recipes have been perfected over hundreds of years so they deserve much respect! By the end of the course you'll have a renewed appreciation for the blend of subtle and intense flavours involved in authentic Indian cooking, and a whole host of tips to practise back at home - plus a load of food to take with you!

Availability

The half day class runs just two to three times a year so plenty of notice is vital when booking!


Requirements

The minimum age is 16, however anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Time Spent at Venue: 04:30

The half day is for 4 hours. You may be at the venue for as long as 4.5hrs.

Spectators Allowed on Site: No

The minimum group size for the class to run is 6.  The class can run with up to 12 to 14 people. 

Unfortunately it isn't suitable for non paying guests.

What to wear

You can bring your own apron, purchase one on the day for £15 each, or hire one for £5.

All cookery equipment and ingredients are provided, but you're welcome to bring a knife if you wish.
