Upon arrival at the Brecon Beacon base camp, you’ll be introduced to your expert instructor and the rest of your group. Then it's time get geared up in all the necessary equipment and head out into the beautiful Beacon’s with your canoes in tow! Where you’ll start your aquatic adventure depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for, and with plenty of awesome canoeing spots in the area, you’re sure to find the perfect day out for you. Maybe you’ll start from the peaceful Pontsticill Reservoir. Here, you’ll have the perfect viewpoint to gaze upon the stunning scenery of the national park from out on the silent waters. Or, if you’re looking for something that packs a bit more of an adrenaline punch, why not test out your skills on the fast flowing River Usk? This exciting river route includes grade 2-4 rapids, so you'll need to hold on tight and prepare to get wet! Whatever canoe experience you’re looking for, this versatile half day water adventure is sure to be buckets of fun and leave you wanting more!

This exciting 3 hour Canoeing experience in the Brecon Beacons is available throughout the year on both weekdays and weekends.
Please note that bookings in May, June and July can be tricky due to higher numbers of large group bookings, so please give plenty of notice.
Minimum Age: 8 years
Participants who are not able to swim can still take part - you'll simply need to inform your instructor upon arrival and they will be able to give advice accordingly.
All instructors are British Canoe qualified and can cater for beginners and advanced paddlers alike.

Time at Venue: 03:10
This is a 3 hour session, starting at either 9:15am or 13:15pm.
You'll need to arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to the start time to get yourself checked in.
Participants: The Half Day Canoeing Experience for 2 - South Glamorgan is for 2 participants.
Max Group Size: 11
Spectators Allowed on Site: No
This is a shared group experience which requires a minimum of 4 participants in order to go ahead.
If you are a group of 3 or less, you will simply be added to another small group.
There is no maximum group size as such.
The ratio of participants to instructors is 12:1, so groups larger than this will need to give plenty of notice.
The canoeing experience is not suitable for spectators.
Please ensure you are wearing sturdy shoes with good soles - these may get wet.

Upon arrival, you'll be kitted out with a helmet and buoyancy
aid. In the winter months, you'll also be provided with a wetsuit
to keep you warm. In the summer, you will be fine to wear shorts
and t-shirt - swim suits will need to be worn under both.
Please also bring a packed lunch and a drink with you, as you'll need refreshments after your activity - these are not provided by the centre.
The canoeing will go ahead in most weather conditions.
However, if the experience is cancelled due to extreme or adverse conditions, you will simply be re-scheduled for an alternative date.
