This superb French Cookery Course in Devon will teach you how to make the holy grail of food – the quintessential French main course. Foodies everywhere revere French cuisine, so if you know one who’d like to go the extra mile and learn how to make it themselves, this is just the ticket!
This is a full day course, during which you’ll learn the best of French cooking. Many world-famous French main courses began as provincial meals that were made by peasants, who used the local ingredients available to them at the time. They’re simple meals using simple ingredients, but the secret to making them delicious is in the techniques used during cooking. During this course, you’ll learn some of those skills – including how to salt meat properly, low-temperature poaching, roasting whole lamb leg, proper flash frying, resting of cooked meats etc. – so that your own versions of the French classics taste just as good as they would if you were eating them in La Belle France! You can expect to make meals like Gigot d’Agneau (roast leg of lamb), Steak Frites (steak and chips, French style), and French Onion Soup. At the end of the day you’ll have a few brand new and impressive dishes to add to your dinner party box-of-tricks, and a better understanding of some of the most important principles of French cookery.
This is a superb experience gift for true foodies, so if you know one in Devon who’d appreciate a little French flavour in their lives, this full day French Cookery Course is ‘parfait’!
