This is a proper chocolate workshop, meaning that you’re not just filling ready made chocolate shells with filling - you learn the tricky stuff, like melting and tempering the chocolate, and making the tempered chocolate shapes. Chocolate tubes, chocolate sheets, chocolate curls and chocolate swirls are all on the menu, as well as spun sugar work, so you have a chance to get creative and learn some seriously impressive new skills. It’s not only chocolate you’ll be working with either; during the day you’ll learn to make a smooth, silky ganache to take your cakes, pastries and chocolates to a whole new level of deliciousness. Your highly experienced instructor will also show you some valuable technical skills, like piping your ganache so that your finished products look every bit as good as they taste. what you make on the day can vary, but you can be sure that whatever it is it will be absolutely delectable - from light and fluffy chocolate mousse to rich and decadent chocolate fudge cake, the recipes are serious chocoholic staples.

Availability

This fantastic Chocolate cookery experience runs on selected weekend and midweek dates throughout the year - usually once or twice per month.

Requirements

Everyone is welcome to take part in this chocolate making class.

You must be able to responsibly handle sharp knifes and hot pans. If you are unsure about your ability to take part in the lesson, please feel free to get in touch.

If you have any severe allergies or dietary requirements, please alert the cookery school upon booking and they will be happy to discuss dish possibilities.

Experience Duration: 07:00

Time at Venue: 07:10

This is a full day chocolate working course, lasting for approximately 7 hours in total.

Your day will start at 9:30am, finishing at around 4:30pm - please note that you'll need to arrive around 10 minutes before you are due to begin,

Hot and cold beverages will be available throughout your cooking experience.

During your class, you could be making a selection of the following chocolate-based products:

Chocolate Fudge Cake

You'll also learn tempering and piping skills.

You will join a group of participants for your chocolate workshop.

This course is not suitable for spectators, however, there is plenty to do in the historic quayside.

Where is it Located
What to wear

All cooking equipment required will be provided by the school for your experience.

Please wear suitable clothing and comfy shoes, as you will be on your feet throughout your experience - open-toed shoes are not appropriate in the kitchen.

Please be prepared to tie long hair back.

Weather

Your cookery class takes place in a newly refurbished cookery school, so should not be affected by the weather. However, if the experience is cancelled by the school due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule for an alternative date.
