You should dress for the weather for your Oxford Experience
River Cruise for Two; layers are always a good idea as the
temperature can suddenly drop. It's always better to wear too much
than too little, as extra clothes can always be removed, and your
enjoyment can be impaired if you are too cold.
On sunny days, hats, sunglasses and sun cream are a good idea. Please avoid wearing very high heeled shoes as these can cause a risk to your safety. You should also try to ensure you bring a camera to capture the stunning scenes you will see.
The Oxford Experience River Cruise for Two will go ahead in all weather conditions, other than extreme weather events (storms, floods, etc). Should your public cruise be cancelled, the centre will contact you giving as much notice as possible. and you will be able to reschedule. The boat can be fully enclosed in the event of bad weather.
As previous reviewer just the two of us on board with a very nice guide who gave us loads of snippets of history on a calm trip. Shame there weren't more people as we thought he felt he had to keep talking which was good tour guiding but we felt we had to keep listening! Super reception despite The Folly base getting ready for a wedding cruise. We followed the trip with an absolutely fabulous lunch in The Folly.
We had an excellent lunch in the restaurant and we also very much enjoyed our trip on the Thames, which was relaxed and informative. All staff on the day were very helpful. I would rate the experience as a 5 but for the difficulty we experienced in booking the cruise with an Experience Days voucher, which recommended telephoning to book. The telephone was never answered, despite several attempts.
We had a great time on the boat with just the 2 of us and the "captain" who entertained us with a remarkable knowledge of Oxford and the River Thames and their history. Very interesting and the views along the way.We enjoyed it even though it was raining for most of the trip.
Lovely relaxing cruise with beautiful sights and good knowledge
