WIZARD'S AFTERNOON TEA IN LONDON EXPERIENCE DAYS REVIEW

Share

The Wizard’s Afternoon Tea for 2 in London was an experience that completely changed the way I think about afternoon tea.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a spread of sweet and savoury bites – who doesn’t? But the idea of afternoon tea never ignited excitement until now. The concept of a themed afternoon tea was a brilliant idea as it created a well-rounded experience that is beyond just the food that was prepared. Not only did this experience immerse us into the world of all things magic, it was accompanied by a few interactive additions to get us further involved!

Prior to our booking, we completed the magic wand building experience in London, which you can view here, and we were able to incorporate our unique wands into the afternoon tea. If you aren’t planning to build your own wand, do not worry as you’ll be supplied with your own wand for the entire duration. This is an aspect of the experience that stood out to me the most as I really thought it differentiated it from other dining experiences.

We were swiftly seated at our table for two, which was laid in preparation for what was to come! The entire interior of the venue resembled a scene from the Harry Potter films, with plenty of mystical creatures and magical glowing lights visible. It was clear that each detail was taken into consideration, with the staff all wearing the same uniform. Each aspect contributed to creating a themed ambience that truly made us feel like witches and wizards.

To begin with, we were instructed to use our magic wands to gather ingredients to brew our tea with. This wasn’t as simple as pointing at one place to unlock what we needed. Instead, we had to tap a sequence of images on the locked chest to crack the code. We were both intrigued as to what was inside, and ready to brew our first of two magical teas. Once the sequence was reached, the chest successfully unlocked.

Inside the chest was an array of necessary ingredients to brew our tea. There was a set of instructions to follow to create our beverages. We first had to decide on the flavour we wanted. Next, we chose from a couple of natural ingredients. We decided to combine ginger and nettle using a pestle and mortar. Once placed in the tea bag, we brewed our tea in the tea pot and poured out our desired amount. There were serums of flavour to add to your tea as well for that extra kick!

While we were enjoying our cups of tea, it was time to indulge in some luxurious sweet and savoury treats! On the menu was a collection of sandwiches and desserts, as well as a classic scone to evoke the good old days of an original afternoon tea. Tea was served on a spiral stand with a glowing dragon’s egg on the top, and we were told to take care to ensure that we didn’t disrupt its sleeping during our feast. Each item was carefully curated to align with the theme of magic, and everything tasted magic.

To name a few, there was an egg mayo finger sandwich, a coronation chicken mini brioche bun, a rhubarb trifle, and a chocolate cupcake. If I had to let you know my favourite item, it would have to be the warm homemade British scone. Nothing can beat a homemade baked good, especially when it is as delicious as can be! It left me wanting more before I’d even finished, and the portion sizes were perfect.

The Wizard’s Afternoon Tea for 2 in London is an experience perfect for those looking to branch out from the usual afternoon tea, or somebody looking to try out something new in London!
