STAFF REVIEW: HALF DAY QUAD BIKE ADVENTURE

Share

Leaving early from Brighton, heading for True Grip in Ashford, it was a relatively easy journey. Upon arrival, we followed instructions to reach the venue, as it's located on a beautiful farm in the middle of the countryside.

We were welcomed with big smiles and friendly faces as we made our way into the office for a warm coffee. We ran through with our instructor and the owner of the business, Guy, what we'd be completing, along with a little safety briefing. We then chose our helmets, gloves and boots. I recommend bringing your own boots - I didn’t, so ended up in a size far to big! It was very funny.

Once we were set to go, we jumped into one of the 4x4 vehicles to take us to the quads. This was around a 5-minute journey and a great opportunity to take in the surroundings. The quads were now in sight and my excitement grew. Before I knew it, we were on the quads going through the first instructions of how to control them. We used the thumb throttle to go forward until Guy made us stop, then reversed after changing the gear to test out all the controls. Then we were set!

We began by going over the 4x4 course, ensuring we felt comfortable before heading into the forests. With everyone raring to go, we rode over to the woods. Here, we saw the mud, steep hills and an extremely fun and challenging course to go through. With Guy leading, we followed him as we traveled deeper into the woods - it was great!

At times, I felt a little nervous, but Guy put us all at ease - giving us the guidance we needed to be sure we’d be safe. Half way through, we stopped for a little break. This was the perfect opportunity to take a few pictures.

With our break finished, Guy advised that now we'd be going down some steeper hills and made sure we would be happy with that. Bex wasn’t too keen about this part, however, Guy reassured her that she didn’t need to take part. However, I was thoroughly enjoying it and definitely wanted to try this out. It was great to see that there was no pressure on completing parts of this forest course.

After zooming up and down hills, we began making our back out of the forest. While on our way back, we stopped at an incredible view point which again led to getting some great images. Once we had our picture stop, we headed back for the 4x4 course. By this point, my confidence was soaring and, when we got back, Guy led us up and down bigger hills which were a little tricky but very fun!

As our experience drew to a close, we packed our quad bikes and drove back to the office in one of the 4x4 vehicles. Arriving back at the office, we said our goodbyes and thanked the team for having us.

Again, a huge thank you to True Grip for having us, we had a brilliant time. I absolutely loved the experience and would love to go back with my friends and family.
