Meeting in front of the statue of Robert Burns, the guide will introduce everyone in the group and give a briefing on what to expect from your tour. Group sizes are kept small on purpose so you get a truly immersive experience, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get the most from the morning - don't worry about getting stuck at the back of a crowd with this tour! Opened in 1889, the Gallery was built upon the personal collection of the eccentric David, 11th Earl of Buchan, who had a passion for portraits of famous Scots. Over the years the collection has expanded to include remarkable paintings of John Ritchie Findlay of Aberlour, Arthur Kinmond Bell, Margaret Oliphant, and many more. Your tour guide will accompany the journey through the gallery with informative commentary, and if the weather permits you can head out onto the streets to see more of Edinburgh!
