ALL ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Paragliding Course Derbyshire - 1 Day Intro

During this full day Derbyshire Paragliding course you'll master skills such as launch, take off and ground control with expert Paragliding instructors helping you on the journey to earning your EPC!

This full day paragliding lesson in Derbyshire is not only an exhilarating experience, bit it is also a solid introduction to Paragliding and will count as the first step in the journey to earning your EPC (Elementary Pilot Certificate). Once you have completed the EPC course you are deemed capable of paragliding solo under the supervision of a paragliding instructor.

Paragliding is a wonderful and addictive pastime, where you learn to control a Paraglider - this is essentially a lightweight, foot-launched glider aircraft in which the pilot is harnessed. The pilot is suspended underneath a fabric wing with suspension lines, and can steer and guide his paraglider, flying for hours at a time. This 1 day introductory paragliding lesson is not just great fun, but it's also an important 1st step towards being certified for solo paragliding! During this paragliding experience your instructor will teach you some basic paragliding skills such as launch, take off and ground control.

On top of all of this, you are also treated to some really stunning aerial views of the surrounding Derbyshire landscape.Your paragliding lesson in Derbyshire will begin with a thorough briefing at either the Derbyshire Paragliding Centre or at a pre-assigned location.
You will have some theory to work on, combined with some hands-on practical application, learning first how to handle the glider when it is on the ground and then how to control it when it is airborne. Things really kick off when you progress to practising landing and take-off manoeuvres, and depending on weather conditions you will finish your full day paragliding lesson by trying out some low level flights! This paragliding experience day counts towards your EPC (Elementary Pilots Course) qualification.

Hubby's 25th wedding present from me

My hubby really enjoyed it and wishes he could afford to take up as hobby but at £4k plus to continue with the training its a bit of a dream at moment. Really nice friendly instructors, also a cafe and some where to sit. Only niggle is it stated on website no spectators so I left him to it went off to Derby, but when I got back noticed one of partners had actually been taken with the group. I was a little gutted as it was for our special anniversary. I watched from the side lines as once group was on field not allowed on as its a working airfield. I could not take very good pictures as too far away. Would have loved some good photos. Also they don't allow you to take the course booklet away no real proof of completing course unless there is some kind of register. But otherwise well worth the money.
