Off Road Experience Days: Drive the all-new Rage Hurricane during this awesome dirt buggy thrill, available at Prestwold Driving Centre, Leicestershire, and Elvington Aerodrome, Yorkshire. With 10 minutes’ intense drive time and professional one-to-one tuition, it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

On arrival at your chosen venue, you’ll be greeted by a fully qualified instructor and given an in-car safety briefing. They’ll then talk you through the Hurricane’s controls before directing you onto the rally track. Here, you’ll complete around 20 laps, practicing low grip driving techniques like power sliding, hydro handbrake initiation, weight transfer, Scandinavian flicks and brake steer. You’ll receive expert tuition throughout—delivered via the latest Bluetooth intercom technology in your helmet—as you get to grips with the Hurricane’s 1050cc Yamaha Fx Nytro engine. This delivers 140bhp, a top speed of 120mph and a 0-60mph time of just under 4 seconds—so prepare to be blown away!

I found the organisers to be friendly and helpful - including the lady from Doncaster (sorry - didn't get your name) even if you were a bit 'Northern'! LOL!!. You start off with a short intro and then taken on to a practice course, where a very happy photographer makes you laugh as everyone tries to concentrate on not falling off. Then taken out in to the woods, where you can explore, but all the time being well looked after. I was given a 'Team' photo at the end and also purchased others.

Even though the day was bright and sunny, and all the staff were brilliant, I have to say I did not have a very good day. I fell off the Segway twice, and found it difficult to control, think I would have benefited from more practice, than I was given, I guess it would have been more beneficial for me to have stayed on the practice for the whole duration, going around in a circle, rather than being taken into the woods, that is where I fell off twice. I was glad to have had the protective gear on, otherwise I guess I could have been hurt more that I was, so ended up going home with a number of bruises over me (in various places). My husband on the other hand had a fantastic time and really enjoyed it, he was far more confident than I was. This experience was given to us by our son for Christmas, so had to give it a go. As I said the staff were great, and helped me twice, after the second fall decided to call it a day, so the other participants, could have the time they deserved with the trainer. Don't think this is for me, my husband would definitely have another go.
