Flying Experience Days: Experience the thrill of a Microlight flight at Membury Airfield during this hour long flying experience. You'll take to the skies of Berkshire and Wiltshire and soar at 2,000ft over the stunning British countryside. This is sure to be an unforgettable flying experience!

Your Microlight flying experience in Berkshire will begin with a welcome to Membury Airfield. Your instructor for the day will introduce you to the grounds, the Microlight itself and the essential protocols of Microlighting in these areas. After a final pre-flight check, you'll make your way to the runway and take to the skies ready for an hour long flight, encompassing some of the fantastic scenic countryside below. If the conditions allow it, your instructor may even let you take the controls and get some hands on experience! Once safely landed, the instructor will debrief and provide advice on the next stages - then you can take home your commemorative certificate to remember the day with.

Microlighting is a must do for any adrenaline junkie or flying enthusiast! This hour long flight makes an incredible experience gift and is sure to create memories that last for a lifetime.

This Microlight flying lesson takes place mainly on weekdays and selected weekends from February to November.

Requirements

Minimum age: 14
Maximum Weight: 16.5 stone for the Flex Wing and 15.5 stone for the fixed wing.

Experience Duration: 1:00

Time Spent at Venue: 2:00

This Microlight flying lesson will last for around two hours, with one around hour being spent in the air (depending on weather conditions).

Family and friends are welcome to watch your memorable Microlight Trial Flight - and should bring a camera!

Children must be supervised at all times and no pets are allowed on the airfield unfortunately.

What to Wear

All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

You should wear layers and dress for the weather. In the summer you should bring sunglasses and suncream, and in the winter bring some woollies!

Microlighting is of course very weather dependent.

Customers must call us for a weather check on the morning of their flight, whatever the forecast.You should check with the centre on the day, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) to ensure it is going ahead.

This was a really good experience. The flight lasted for a full hour, and Dave, my pilot, had an encyclopedic knowledge of the surrounding area. He was able to point out all of the landmarks, towns and villages of interest, and tell me something about them. Highlights for me were Avebury Stone Circle, Marlborough town, and white horses at Hackpen, Alton Barnes and Uffington.
