This exhilarating Rock Climbing experience is a fantastic
introduction to a really rewarding sport that has exploded in
popularity over recent years.
Outdoor Rock Climbing is rewarding for a number of reasons - not only do you get out there in nature, breathing fresh air, but you also challenge yourself both physically and mentally. It takes focus and coordination to climb well, and a successful climb is it's own reward!
This half-day climbing course is designed for novice or total beginner climbers as an introduction to rock climbing. You will have fun, learn basic climbing skills, and master bouldering techniques. This great introduction to the world of rock climbing is ideal for someone with a vague interest in the sport, or someone who smiply fancies trying something new and very rewarding.Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the equipment and the surface that you will be climbing. Once briefed it is time to start practicing the basic skills covered in the lesson. Here you will be practicing techniques including knots & belaying, climbing technique & etiquette and an introduction to bouldering & safety awareness. This great taster session will give a solid understanding of what is involved with this great sport, and hopefully whet the whistle for future adventures!
This experience is available on selected dates, but must have a
minimum of 4 people for weekend dates.

All under 18's must be accompanied by a PARTICIPATING Parent / Guardian.

There will be a maximum of nine climbers per instructor, and spectators are more than welcome to come and watch your courageous climbing adventure!
All specialist equipment with be provided by the centre. You should wear trainers and loose clothing that is suitable for the weather conditions. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water as there are normally no shops near the crags.
Rock climbing can sometimes be affected by bad weather; if in doubt please call the centre before setting off.
