Kids learn to pilot their own personal hovercraft during this exciting session, in Cheshire.

- Gift Voucher valid for 1 Participant
Here’s a chance for kids to pilot one of the coolest machines out there – the hovercraft! During this awesome experience, in Cheshire, kids can fly their own personal craft, under the supervision of trained instructors. They’ll learn to guide it round a waterlogged course, and compete to clock the fastest time!
The experience takes place at one of the region’s top outdoor activity centres. On arrival, young pilots will be greeted by an instructor, who’ll discuss safety, before introducing the group to the hovercraft. The English inventor, Christopher Cockerell, patented the first hovercraft, in 1952. Since then, they’ve been put to different uses around the world, though today’s small craft still operate on the same principles as Cockerell’s original. On the race track, the instructor will demonstrate how to start, stop, and negotiate bends. Gliding on a cushion of air, kids will then complete several laps of the circuit, including a final time trial race. The group takes turns throughout, so they’ll receive further instruction between laps – crucial if they want to top that leaderboard!
