This hovercraft experience gets you in the driver's seat of one
of these futuristic and fun machines. Hovercraft driving is a whole
new type of vehicle control, unlike any type of driving you'll ever
have experienced! Hovercraft work by moving around on a cushion of
air, created by high-pressure jets hidden beneath the 'skirt' of
The kind of movement that you'll experience when you drive a hovercraft is unforgettable. You'll experience the feeling of sliding, gliding, and drifting over mud, sand, grass, earth - and even water! yes, hovercraft are amphibious vehicles, meaning they can be driven on land or water! During this hovercraft driving session, you will move around a purpose-built course with specially placed posts and obstacles.Following a safety briefing and a demonstration, you'll learn the basics of flying these exciting machines (under supervision) - and quickly learn that it's not as easy as the instructors make it look! You then move on to the BP challenge, a series of obstacles to practice your new found skills. Having mastered control of your craft, you will move to the Hover Cross track - flying the hovercraft over land and water around our track in a series of pursuit and relay races against other hovercrafts. And to end the day every person completes 1 lap of the track to enter into the flying fish challenge with the fastest time of the year being presented with a free day to spend there again!!! You will also be presented with a certificate of your day.
Hovercrafting in Kent is available Saturdays and occasional Sundays between March and December, subject to availability.
The booking office will usually close for 3 weeks over the Christmas period (14th Dec-7th Jan).

The actual time spent aboard the hovercraft is around 25 minutes.
Two hovercraft will be on the course at one time - after the safety breifing, participants will be swapping around and taking part in games and challenges for the rest of the session.

Saturday sessions for the hovercrafting have a maximum group size of 12 people.
Please wear warm clothing and be prepared to perhaps get muddy
and wet, it's all in the fun of it.
Long sleeves and long legged trousers must be worn, along with closed-toe shoes.
Safety equipment is provided at the centre.
Only the most extreme of weather conditions will force the
hovercrafting experience to be rescheduled.
Please contact the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead if you are unsure.
