With locations all over the country, you’re never far from a famous Hallmark Hotel. The style and luxury sets them above others in the field, and now, with an exclusive interview from Vivien Slater, the Director of Sales and Marketing for the company, you can see the inner workings that makes these hotels so desirable.

1) Please explain the history of ‘Hallmark Hotels’ so far.

At Hallmark Hotels we’ve devoted the last few years and millions of pounds to create a group of exceptional hotels with a serious focus on providing the very best guest experience. We are dedicated to continuous investment and improvement to achieve the highest levels of customer service and operational standards.

Formed in 2007, Hallmark Hotels have a history of acquiring underperforming 3 star hotels and funding £1 to £4 million extensive refurbishments at each hotel, thus creating 4 star facilities and a group of 4 star hotels. The 8 hotels acquired to date are located in Manchester, Carlisle, Derby(x2), Bournemouth, Hull, Gloucester and Croydon.

Our hotels range from 78 to 110 luxury bedrooms and all feature a stylish lounge bar and informal Brasserie restaurant offering exceptionally good food alongside great wine. The hotels in Manchester, Gloucester and Bournemouth have an extensive Health Club & Spa offering, including swimming pools, well-equipped gymnasiums, spa pools, sauna and steam rooms.

2) What has been the biggest or most memorable event you’ve provided?

We pride ourselves in providing unforgettable experiences for all our guests, from bespoke weddings and celebrations to lavish Christmas parties and memorable meetings.

Hallmark Hotel Manchester regularly host charity events for ‘When you wish upon a star’ which grants wishes for children with life threatening illnesses. Celeb spotting is rife at these events, with TV celebrities such as the Coronation Street and Hollyoaks casts always in attendance.

Radio 1s Big Weekend took place in Carlisle in 2012 with Chris Moyles, Scott Mills and co all staying at the Hallmark Hotel Carlisle.

3) Is there any inside information you can give us?

The key to guest satisfaction is undeniably attention to detail. At Hallmark, we know it’s the little things that matter and strive for perfection.

4) Which of your experiences you would choose/recommend?

From my personal perspective, the Romantic package is not to be missed. Treat your loved one to a fabulous break at a plush 4* hotel, with a relaxed Brasserie dinner with fine wine. Then retire to your plush bedroom where wine and chocolates await by a bed covered in rose petals. Pure indulgence!

5) Do you have any exciting plans for the future that you’d like to tell us about?

We do have very exciting plans but unfortunately they’re top secret at the moment…watch this space!

6) What would you say is your most frequently asked question?

We’re coming to stay for a special occasion, can you make it extra special for us?

We’ll always do what we can to add a personal touch. From birthday cards and children’s activity packs, to balloons and chocolate strawberries in the room.

Hallmark Hotel experiences are available in Bournemouth, Carlisle, Croydon, Derby, Gloucester, Hull and Manchester. Click here for the full range of experiences.
