Food and Drink Experience Days: Established in 1837, Glenkinchie Distillery is one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland, producing fine malt whisky for nearly 200 years despite two World Wars and a brief stint as a sawmill. Discover the fascinating history and taste a variety of whiskies during this exciting guided tour!
On the day of your reservation the guide will collect you from central Edinburgh and begin the scenic journey to Glenkinchie. The sprawling Victorian redbrick distillery is hard to miss, you need a lot of space to produce almost 2,000,000 litres of whisky! The day kicks off with a highly informative guided tour of the distillery, featuring the elaborate history, stories of people and politics, and tastings of two whiskies. You'll then head to The Mercat Bar & Grill for a 'Scottish-style tapas' consisting of traditional local cuisine paired with whiskies that perfectly enhance the unique Scottish flavours. Cullen Skink, Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, and Clootie Dumplin' are all staple menu items, so come prepared from some true Scottish heritage!
