There is nothing quite like that fresh-out-of-the-oven smell, and although we all know that bread is a staple of our daily diets, it can be so much more than that! This one day bread making course in Exeter goes beyond the basics of baking the humble loaf and teaches you the skills to be able to replicate some truly magnificent recipes, and the understanding to develop some of your own.Upon arrival at the purpose-built cookery school in the vibrant historic quayside area, you'll be greeted by your expert baker for the day. After a quick chat over coffee and biscuits, you'll dive straight in with some technical information on how to select the perfect flour, yeast and ingredient combination for your chosen bread-types. Throughout the course of the day, you will be preparing everything from scratch, including weighing the ingredients and kneading the dough by hand. This class is about more than just skills though...as you prepare your breads, your expert instructor will teach you the science behind the baking magic, meaning that you'll leave with a greater knowledge to take back to your kitchen at home.
During the day, you'll be treated to a buffet-style lunch, including some of the breads you've baked that very morning - you'll also be able to take home all of your bakes, to impress you friends and family with. A truly insightful bread making course, this class will leave you with a passion for bread like never before!
This Full Day Bread Baking Experience is available on selected weekday and weekend dates, throughout the year - usually once or twice a month.

Everyone is welcome to take part in this cookery class.
You must be able to responsibly handle sharp knifes and hot
pans. If you are unsure about your ability to take part in the
lesson, please feel free to get in touch.
If you have any severe allergies or dietary requirements, please alert the cookery school upon booking and they will be happy to discuss dish possibilities.

This is a full day bread making course, lasting for approximately 7 hours in total.
Your day will start at 9:30am, finishing at around 4:30pm -
please note that you'll need to arrive around 10 minutes before you
are due to begin.
Hot and cold beverages will be available throughout your cooking experience. Your day also includes a home cooked buffet-style lunch including some of the breads you have made that very morning.

You will join a group of participants for your cookery class.
This course is not suitable for spectators, however, there is plenty to do in the historic quayside.
All cooking equipment required will be provided by the school for your experience.
Please wear suitable clothing and comfy shoes, as you will be on your feet throughout your experience - open-toed shoes are not appropriate in the kitchen.
Please be prepared to tie long hair back.
Your cookery class takes place in a newly refurbished cookery school, so should not be affected by the weather. However, if the experience is cancelled by the school due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule for an alternative date.
