AHOY TO CHRISTMAS JOY!- CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR WITH CITY CRUISES.
We were kindly invited to City Cruise’s Christmas and New Year’s launch night. The evening consisted of a taster of what to expect from the 2014 Christmas and New Year line up. Get ready to enjoy the magic of Christmas like no other, as these experiences see you glide down the Thames River captivated by London’s most famous landmarks.
Don’t just deck the halls with boughs of holly this year but climb on deck with boughs of holly!
City cruises have an exciting variety of seasoned events to take your fancy this year. Truly spread the Christmas spirit from Christmas carols to a Christmas Day Lunch. Teas, Festival Lights and Christmas parties are also available so be sure not to let this festive season float right by you!
Abby and I boarded the cruise and were welcomed with a glass of fizzy champagne and reindeer antlers! The cruise boat is a cosy vessel, seating up to 180 people making the event seem exclusive yet sociable. Glittering chocolate coins and confetti were spread over tables and there was a constant stream of attentiveness from staff- filling up our empty glasses and serving Christmas themed canapés. Food was delicious; with an array of cranberry and camembert parcels, pigs in blankets, curried chicken salad and smoked salmon blinis.
The Christmas menu will range for each event. The Christmas Day 3- Course Traditional Lunch will include: a starter of roasted butternut squash, thyme and cumin soup. The main will be roast turkey (of course!) with sage and onion stuffing, chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon with roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips, Brussels sprouts chestnuts gravy and cranberry sauce. Dessert will be the Chefs festive season chocolate dessert. The meal will finish with the choice of tea or coffee with mince pies to perfect all the trimmings of your traditional dinner. A just as tasty vegetarian alternative is also available on the day.
Sporting our Reindeer antlers and Santa hats, Abby and I stepped outside onto the upper deck to enjoy the live jazz musician who played popular renditions of Christmas songs on his saxophone. As the evening drew to a close Christmas really did come early as snowflakes began to fall on us from a snow machine. City Cruises provide entertainment for every cruise ensuring a very Merry White Christmas on the river.
After you have spread all the Christmas joy upon one of the City Cruises, why not start the New Year in style on a glass-roofed CityLiner. Have the best seat in London as you witness panoramic views of spectacular fireworks fly over London’s city skyline. Choose from an assortment of luxury dinners and stargazers to truly celebrate 2015! How about the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner Cruise? The ticket price will include a welcome drink, 4 courses Festive Dinner and half a bottle of wine per person. Or go out with a bang for the New Year’s Eve River party; a four hour Disco cruise with a live DJ. Be sure to count on City Cruises for the ultimate countdown this year!
