newly refurbished seafront hotel in the vibrant city of Brighton.
While away the afternoon over a selection of mouth-watering
sandwiches, sweet cakes, and of course the afternoon tea staple -
scones with cream and jam!
After arriving at The Harbour Hotel and being shown to your table, your first delicious dilemma is choosing which tea to whet your appetite. You’ll be presented with a bottomless selection of ‘Tea Pig’ and speciality teas with everything from a relaxing Chamomile, exotic Rooibos, unique Popcorn flavour and everyone's favourite; the Everyday Brew. Relax with views of Brighton’s pebble beach and iconic Palace Pier through the glass fronted restaurant as you await your finger food feast. Once your food has arrived, you'll have to decide where to start: Included on the traditional tier stand will be a smoked chicken tortilla wrap, ham hock and mustard toast and smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches. Continuing on the savoury delights, you could try a cheese scone with accompanying bacon jam and then move onto the traditional fruit scone with lots (and lots) of clotted cream and jam. Finish your epicurean adventure with dark chocolate praline eclairs, cherry bakewell tarts, and a passion fruit trifle. We challenge you to finish it all off!

I had never been for afternoon tea, how Un-British of me! But I cannot imagine that it gets better than this. Ever since I have been racking my brain finding an excuse to go again soon, which I am sure I will do in the near future.
Booked for one vegan, one vegetarian and one meat-eater and was pleasantly surprised at how well we were all accommodated. Everyone had a full afternoon tea with proper substitutes, they'd really gone above and beyond!
I had a lovely time at the Harbour Hotel! The Afternoon Tea was fabulous with a lot of different selections on each tier. The service was very good throughout and they made sure we felt very welcomed. I would definitely recommend sitting by the windows to see the beautiful sea views of Brighton.
I extremely enjoyed my Afternoon Tea at The Harbour Hotel, the savoury and sweet options were delicious. It was the perfect location for an Afternoon Tea over looking Brighton sea front, I would love to go back!
I took my friend to Harbour Hotel for her Birthday and treated her to the Afternoon Tea. I am myself gluten intolerant, which I specified when I booked, which was not a problem in the slightest. We were brought delicious scones with clotted cream and jam, savoury scones, a selection of cakes and got to choose from the huge variety of teas on their tea menu. All in all I must say it's one of the best Afternoon Teas I've had! So much so, I've been back since!
As I arrived at the Harbour Hotel (one of the Mr and Mrs Smith’s boutique hotels) for afternoon tea I was impressed by the location. The front of the hotel overlooks the stunning coast of Brighton and the iconic pier, with the new i360 being only a short walk away. What better place to relax with your afternoon tea than with a view that provides the opportunity to really see Brighton’s vibrant beauty.
On arrival, we were warmly greeted and taken to our table by a well-presented member of the hotel team. As we walked through the hotel restaurant I was impressed by the spacious layout, which allows for a good level of privacy but with sufficient room to accommodate larger numbers of people on busy days. The design of the room was comfortable with a contemporary touch that is perfect for an afternoon tea for visitors of all ages.
The three of us were quickly seated towards the back of the room, which was furnished with relaxing sofas that made us feel at ease. Within a few minutes, the server was asking for our order from an impressive selection of quality teas. The service was to a very high standard with friendly staff that were committed to making sure that we received everything we required.
Within the Harbour Hotel, they created an ideal atmosphere for our traditional afternoon tea. The music was very appropriate and worked well with the delivery of a relaxing experience. As we saw the food arriving we were all very impressed by its presentation using a traditional tiered cake stand.
Within the Harbour high tea, there was a wide selection of sandwiches, wraps, cakes and scones. It was fantastic that at the beginning when we were given our food the server went through exactly what everything was and what ingredients they contained. This was especially useful for us as we were visiting for the first time and demonstrated a high level of customer care.
All of the food was delicious with the variety of different fillings and flavours that really complimented each other. It was obvious that everyone was enjoying the food as this was the first time we all went quiet for a while! We especially enjoyed the scones and couldn’t help ourselves using up the entire pot of clotted cream. By the end, there was very little left and we all agreed that we were very satisfied with the amount of food that we had been given and the exceptional quality.
On reflection, I would definitely recommend to all my friends and family going to the Harbour Hotel for afternoon tea. With its perfect setting within Brighton, quality environment, good selection of food and tea being served at a professional standard this all makes for a memorable and quality experience.
We would like to thank Rebecca for publishing this great review and look forward to her joining the Experience Days team in June!
Mothers are more than welcome to breast-feed inside the hotel, or the staff can provide a discreet area should you wish.
There are vegetarian and vegan alternatives available, simply make a request when booking the afternoon tea.
