So, how does one jump in the UK? Our answer to this is to take part in any of our varied 'jumping' experiences.

Jumping experiences can refer to a wide range of activities that involve jumping, from jumping on a trampoline to jumping out of an airplane with a parachute. Jumping experiences can provide a range of physical and emotional sensations, from excitement and fear to joy and exhilaration. They can be a fun way to challenge oneself, improve physical fitness, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Some of our most searched for experiences are anything to do with jumping, from bungee to tandem skydiving, kitesurfing to trampolining, and just about everything in between. We as a nation love jumping, flying, soaring and free-falling and Experience Days have a fantastic choice of products to fulfill your most dare-devilish needs.

    Let's jump right into it!

    Bungee Jump

Bungee jumping is an extreme sport that involves jumping from a high platform or fixed object while attached to an elastic cord. The cord is usually made of rubber or latex and stretches to absorb the shock of the jump. The jumper typically wears a harness that is attached to the bungee cord, and sometimes a helmet for safety.

Bungee jumping provides an adrenaline rush and a sense of adventure. The intense feeling of freefalling from a high platform can be both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Additionally, bungee jumping provides a unique perspective and allows the jumper to see the world from a different angle.

Many people also enjoy the challenge of facing their fears and pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones. Bungee jumping requires a certain level of courage and trust in the equipment and safety procedures, and successfully completing a jump can give a great sense of accomplishment.

Furthermore, bungee jumping can be a social and communal activity that brings people together. Some people enjoy sharing the experience with friends or family members, and the shared thrill can create a strong bond.

    Tandem Skydive

Tandem skydiving is a type of skydiving in which a student skydiver is attached to an instructor via a harness. The instructor is a highly experienced skydiver who is responsible for controlling the jump, deploying the parachute, and landing safely. The student skydiver typically receives a brief training session before the jump to learn the basics of skydiving and the safety procedures involved.

During a tandem skydive, the student and instructor board an airplane and ascend to a high altitude, typically between 10,000 and 14,000 feet. Once the plane reaches the desired altitude, the student and instructor exit the plane together and freefall for a specified amount of time before the instructor deploys the parachute. During the freefall, which lasts around 30 to 60 seconds, the student and instructor reach speeds of up to 120 miles per hour, experiencing a thrilling sensation of weightlessness and adrenaline rush.

After the parachute is deployed, the student and instructor glide back down to the ground, taking in the scenery and enjoying the peaceful descent. The instructor controls the parachute and ensures a safe landing, usually on a designated landing zone.

Tandem skydiving is a popular way for first-time skydivers to experience the thrill of skydiving without having to complete extensive training or obtain a skydiving license. It is a safe and controlled way to experience freefalling and the sensation of flight. It can also be a great way to conquer fears, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

It is important to choose a reputable skydiving company and follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable tandem skydiving experience.

    'Triple Whammy'

The Triple Whammy experience is unique to The Abyss @ Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, an activity centre offering the ultimate experience for dare devils, The Abyss is complete with dry ice, strobe lighting and music to really set the scene. Former steel works, the building makes for the ultimate thrill-seeker's playground.

    The Triple Whammy consists of three exhilarating activities sure to pump the adrenaline right through your body. Described as "a disorientating attack on the senses" by a national newspaper, this experience certainly isn't for the faint hearted. The activities are as follows;

Zip Wire - First, you'll kick things off with a thrilling 250 ft zip wire, situated 70 ft above the ground. As you zoom along, others can spectate from the parallel walkway.

Abseil - Next, you'll be challenged to climb down the Magna's 150 ft Face of Steel building. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, what if we told you that it was a free abseil, meaning, you descend into free air and not down a building? Think of it as a practice round for what's to come...

The Drop - Against the 150 ft Face of Steel building once again but this time, you are simply free falling. Yes, you read that correctly! With all the necessary safety gear, a harness and chord, you will literally fall freely. As you near the ground, the chord becomes more taut, allowing you to break your fall by slowing down before landing softly on your feet.

    Still up for the challenge?

    Abseiling

Abseiling, also known as rappelling, is a technique used to descend a vertical or near-vertical surface such as a cliff or building. It involves using a rope and harness to control the speed of the descent while maintaining a secure connection to the surface.

Abseiling is commonly used in activities such as rock climbing, canyoning, and caving, where descending cliffs or steep drops is a necessary part of the activity. It is also used by rescue and emergency services to access and evacuate people from high places.

The process of abseiling typically involves securing a rope to an anchor point at the top of the surface and attaching the rope to a harness worn by the person descending. The abseiler then carefully walks backwards off the edge of the surface while maintaining control of the rope, using their body weight and friction to regulate their speed of descent. The descent can be stopped or slowed by gripping the rope with one or both hands or by using a braking device.

Abseiling requires a certain level of physical strength and coordination, as well as mental focus and trust in the equipment and safety procedures. It can be a thrilling and challenging activity that provides a unique perspective of the surrounding environment.

    Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a challenging sport that involves scaling vertical rock faces, boulders, or indoor climbing walls using a combination of physical strength, balance, and problem-solving skills. The sport can be performed outdoors or indoors, and often requires specialized equipment such as ropes, harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes.

Rock climbing requires a high level of physical fitness and mental concentration, as well as technical knowledge and experience with safety equipment and procedures. Climbers often train on artificial climbing walls before attempting outdoor climbs, and may take classes or work with experienced climbers to improve their skills.

Outdoor rock climbing adventures often can involve gorge walking, which can be a great way to explore the natural beauty of the UK countryside whilst still having an adrenaline-inducing adventure.

North Wales is a particularly popular location for gorge walking due to its stunning scenery and challenging terrain. Popular locations for gorge walking in North Wales include the Afon Llugwy, Afon Ddu, and Afon Clywedog.

Gorge walking in North Wales is a fun and challenging adventure activity that is suitable for people of all fitness levels. It provides an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area while pushing personal limits and building confidence.

    Indoor Skydiving

Indoor skydiving is an activity that simulates the experience of skydiving without the need for a plane or parachute. It is typically done in a vertical wind tunnel, which is a cylindrical chamber with a powerful upward airflow that allows participants to float and fly in the air.

Indoor skydiving begins with a safety briefing and instruction on technique. Participants typically wear a jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles, and enter the wind tunnel with a trained instructor.

The instructor helps participants maintain a stable body position in the airflow, allowing them to experience the sensation of freefalling without the risk of jumping from a plane. Participants can practice various maneuvers such as turning, spinning, and moving up and down in the tunnel.

Indoor skydiving is also a useful training tool for experienced skydivers who want to improve their skills or practice new maneuvers without the risk of injury or equipment failure. It provides a cost-effective and convenient way to train and practice, and can be done year-round regardless of weather conditions.

    Hang Gliding

Hang gliding is an adventure sport that involves gliding through the air using a lightweight, unpowered aircraft called a hang glider. The hang glider is made up of a frame, a sail-like wing, and a harness for the pilot to hang from.

Hang gliders are launched from elevated positions such as hills, mountains, or cliffs. The pilot runs and jumps off the edge of the launch point, using the wind to lift and carry them through the air. Once in the air, the pilot can control the direction and speed of the hang glider using weight shifts and control bars attached to the wing.

Hang gliding requires physical strength, balance, and coordination, as well as proper training and safety precautions. Pilots must be proficient in launch techniques, flying maneuvers, and landing procedures.

Hang gliding is a popular activity for individuals or groups looking for a thrilling and adrenaline-fueled experience. It provides a unique perspective on the world from above, and allows pilots to soar through the air like a bird.

Hang gliding is also a competitive sport, with competitions held around the world that test the skills and abilities of pilots in various disciplines such as distance, speed, and aerobatics.

Trampolining can be done indoors or outdoors, and typically requires safety equipment such as a safety net, padding, and a mat around the trampoline. Participants should also wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.

In trampolining, participants can perform various jumps and flips, such as tucks, pikes, and layouts. They can also perform more complex acrobatic movements, such as twists, spins, and somersaults.

Trampolining can be done individually or as part of a group, and can be a fun and social activity.
