Helicopter Experience Days: Take off from Welshpool Airport in Wales, and enjoy an
exhilarating 30 minute helicopter flight tour over picturesque
Powys. This helicopter tour will take you to the stunning Lake
Vyrnwy, giving you an unrivalled aerial view of the lake, snugly
nestled in a mountain-locked valley.
As your experienced pilot takes you up, up and away, the first
sight you will see is Powis Castle, a beautiful and imposing
sandstone building that was built around the year 1200. From here,
you'll head towards the gorgeous lake. you'll fly over Meifod, a
small village that is thought to be the burial place of many Powys
princes and kings. From here you will be able to see Cadar Idris in
the distance, where legend had is that Idris the Giant used to sit,
bathing his feet in the river below. As you get closer to the lake,
the pilot will point out the stone dam that is the first of its
kind in the world! The Lake as beautiful to look down on. It is
supplied by 31 different rivers and waterfalls, and its waters are
even used to make Bombay Sapphire! Next, you'll fly to the Pistyll
Rhaeadre waterfall, the highest waterfall in England and Wales. The
pilot will then take you back to Welshpool for a safe landing,
passing over the dramatic Berwyn Mountains and the Severn Valley
along the way!
This is a truly unforgettable sightseeing helicopter flight, and a

This is a 30 minute helicopter flight, but you should allow upto an hour for the whole experience.

Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes
The helicopter seats three to four passengers depending whetherthey use the R44 (three seater) or Jetranger (four seater).
Friends and family can come along to Welshpool Airport to watchthe beginning and end of your fabulous helicopter flight tour.
Individual passenger seat prices are calculated on the basis that all seats are occupied. The helicopter operator will do its best to fill all the seats, including offering Experience Days customers the option to add another fare paying companion(s) but if all the seats cannot be filled then the flight may need to be postponed. Any such situation will be communicated to you by the helicopter operator in advance of flight date.
