A staple meal of the British household, sausage and mash is a dish that we all know and love, but most of us simply grab the nearest packet of bangers from the supermarket shelf and don't stop to take the time to appreciate what an incredible creation a sausage can be...now's your chance! This half day gourmet sausage making experience uses only locally sourced meat (pork only) and vegetables to enable you to create your own designer sausage, under expert guidance.Held at Masterchef (2009) contestant, Ann Hood's, cookery schools, you'll be greeted by an expert chef, before covering all safety and hygiene issues. Once you've covered the basic theory, it's time to crack on with some practical sausage making skills. This culinary class focuses on ensuring that all participants have the opportunity to learn as much as possible - therefore, your instructor will ask small groups of people or individuals to assist with each step of the sausage-making process. Using only fresh, local meat and vegetables, you'll learn to combine the ingredients with blends of spices to create the perfect sausage recipe. As the experience draws to a close, you'll sit down to enjoy your very own sausages, accompanied by homemade piccalilli and of course, some good old mash potato... delicious!

Requirements
Minimum Age: 18 years.
If you have any food allergies or dietary requirements, you will need to inform the centre upon booking a date for your sausage making experience.

This sausage making lesson lasts forapproximately 2 and a half hours in total.
Throughout the lesson, the chef will invite small groups ofparticipants to help him prepare/cook different parts of themenu.
Please note that this is a lesson - some of the time will bespent watching and listening so as to ensure you learn as much aspossible from their expertise.

This is a hands on experience so is not suitable fornon-participating spectators.

What to Wear
Please simply dress comfortably.
Long hair must be tied up.
Ingredients and equipment for all dishes will be provided by the kitchen upon arrival.
Weather
This is an indoor cookery experience so should not be affected by adverse weather conditions.
