I was lucky enough to experience a luxury visit to Gentlemen’s Tonic in Central London, and received several treatments to freshen up my look!

Arriving at the barber’s was a pleasant experience as we were welcomed by the friendly reception staff who led us to the waiting room. I was asked to fill out a form about any allergies and/or preferences I had, which was an appreciated touch to the entire process! I was then offered a complimentary drink and introduced to Omar, the barber who was going to be looking after me.

Firstly, Omar began the treatment with my haircut. Using numerous different lengths on the clipper, my desired look was a skin fade. Delicacy and precision were key here to ensure that I could clearly see the gradual fade on the haircut, and not definitive alterations where the length of the clipper had changed. Not only was this one of the most important aspects, as the shape was sharpened to make a bold statement!

Secondly, Omar moved onto the treatment of my beard. As I usually only get my hair cut at the barber’s rather than getting both a haircut and shave, I was intrigued to witness the transformation of my beard with a professional to touch it up instead of the mediocre job I am capable of myself. The amount of preparation that went into the process took me by surprise as I was lathered up in Gentlemen’s Tonic’s own hydro fresh cream cleanser that opened my pores to become ready for exfoliation!

The active antioxidant peel was then applied on my face to exfoliate and speed up the process of removing the dead skin from dulling areas that dig into the pores. A hot towel was placed on my face to soften the beard hair and surrounding skin, so the blade used to shape my beard wouldn’t seem harsh. I personally think that the use of the blade made the most significant difference as it concluded with a definitive line for the beard to be bold and visible.

Moving on, as the beard had been slickly shaped and trimmed, it was time to focus purely on the facial aspect of the treatment. Omar used a small amount of lotion to settle my skin and avoid any irritation that may have been caused from the shaving blade. This instantly felt like my skin was being rejuvenated as it was left to soak into my skin and make a true difference. Next up was the brightening serum which had the task of brightening and nourishing my skin.

Following the use of countless creams and lotions to refresh my skin, Omar offered to thread my eyebrows to tidy up the look and eliminate any stray hairs! This is also something I haven’t had done before and enjoyed the luxury touches to complete a brand-new look. Further to this, a moisturiser was administrated to remove any flaws and introduce the much-needed minerals and vitamins underneath the top layer of the skin.

As the treatment was in full effect, we shifted to the station where I got my hair washed prior to the final touch up to the top of my hair. After the hair wash, Omar put his immaculate skills to good use and transformed my mess of hair to a fresh, stylish cut! To top off the entire process, Omar then put some structure wax into my hair to add some texture and a strong hold to ensure the style stayed in place.

It was a truly amazing feeling to walk in and then out of the building as a completely new man!
