Flying Experience Days: Experience flying a Microlight in Northampton and enjoy the ranging type of flying activity you can expect - from fixed wing and flexi wing, the Microlighting available at Northampton's Sywell Aerodrome is amongst some of the country's most diverse, and in turn - the finest. With a number of former and still active world champion pilots and Microlighters there most weekends, your flying day will be based around the methods to best suit your skill level and the conditions of the day - from the traditional techniques to the more modern and automated system. The site is also home to numerous permanent flying facilities, including landing strips, refuel stations and a cafe; meaning you won't miss out on your perfect day of flying!Your Microlight Flying Experience in Northampton will begin with a welcome to Sywell Aerodrome, in Northamptonshire where your instructor for the day will introduce you to the grounds, the Microlight and the essential protocols of Microlighting in these areas. After a final pre-flight check, you'll make your way to the runway and take to the skies ready for a 30 minute flight, encompassing some of the fantastic scenic countryside below. If the conditions allow it, your instructor may even let you take the controls and get some hands on experience! Once safely landed, the instructor will debrief and provide advice on the next stages - then you can take home your commemorative certificate to remember the day with.

Please note: We will need to know whether you would like a fixed or
flex wing microlight upon booking.

Microlighting is a great spectators sport for your friends andfamily to watch you soaring through the skies.
There is a dedicated viewing area at Northampton's Sywell Airfield,allowing a good view of the activity. However, there is a no petsrule, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at alltimes.
The provider has one fixed and one flex wing along with two pilots. Each Microlight can only take one pilot and one customer so if you wanted to book for two, you will either go one after the other or at the same time, depending on availability.
Where is it Located
What to Wear
All of the safety equipment is provided at the centre, you just
need to dress for the weather.
So, in summer months it is advised you bring sunglasses and
suncream, and in the winter you should dress in layers.
Weather
Microlighting is of course very weather dependent. It is advised to contact the airfield on the day of the flight to ensure it is going ahead - if it is cancelled, you can simply reschedule for a more suitable time.
