Shoe Making Experience Days: Make a pair of traditional jute-soled Spanish espadrilles during this creative three hour workshop. During your detailed session you will learn exactly what goes into the production of a quality pair of handmade sandals, and come away with your very own espadrilles to add personality to any outfit!
This hands-on shoemaking class takes place in a charming home studio based in Maidstone. Once you are are all set up, you and your fellow students will get to work under the guidance of expert shoemaker Hetty. With a degree in Footwear Design and Development and having worked in both Italy and London for handmade shoe companies, Hetty is the best guide you could ask for. She will walk you through the process of making your bespoke espadrilles step by step and show you how to work with the materials provided. Come away with a one-of-a-kind, totally personal pair of sandals that you can treasure for years to come!
This espadrille making masterclass is perfect for creative minds and fashion-lovers, and makes for a unique experience day in Kent.
Availability
This workshop runs year round, generally at the weekend from 10am to 1pm. This is also subject to availability.
Requirements
Please raise any health or medical conditions with the workshop tutor upon making a booking.
You will also need to share your shoe size prior to the workshop to make sure that the workshop tutor has your sole size in stock.
Unfortunately the espadrille classes are not wheelchair accessible, as the studio is only accessible via a set of steps.
