Arts and Crafts Experience Days: This two day stone carving workshop is a chance for budding sculptors to develop their technique with the help of an expert sculptor - available at venues in Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, and Wolverhampton. Create your own stunning relief out of limestone and learn a brand new skill!
The art of stone carving dates back hundreds of thousands of years. The material's durability means that many early artworks still survive – the lasting legacy of ancient cultures around the world. During this two day course, you’ll learn to properly handle the tools of the trade, which haven’t really changed much since antiquity. Using a mallet and chisel, you’ll carve a raised design from a block of limestone. If you are a stone carving novice, do not fear! You’ll receive individual attention and step-by-step guidance from your friendly instructor throughout the course. Light refreshments are available, and you’re welcome to enjoy lunch in the onsite bakery and café. All materials and tools are provided, and you’ll get to take home your hand carved souvenir.
The Two Day Stone Carving Experience is suitable for beginners, as well as those who’ve tried their hand at carving before. This unique course makes a thoughtful experience gift for an artistic loved one!

Requirements
The minimum age to take part is 16 years old and participants do not need an adult to supervise.
The venues are wheelchair accessible. The Chillington bathrooms have a very small step.

Experience Duration: 12:00
Time Spent at Venue: 13:00
The Two Day Stone Carving Experience is expected to last around 6 hours each day. Your experience duration is from 10:00am to 4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
