This Devon cookery course will teach you how to cook seafood and fish to perfection, and best of all, you’ll learn using ingredients that have been freshly caught just off Devon’s two coasts. If you’re looking for a superb gift for someone who loves fish and seafood dishes, you can’t do much better!
The full day cooking class isn’t just about how to put dishes together; you’ll also learn valuable skills required to properly prepare various types of seafood, from shucking oysters to storing, cleaning and cooking mussels. You’ll learn to make sauces from scratch, and techniques to ensure you never commit the cardinal sin of seafood – overcooking. The actual recipes you’ll learn to make on the day can vary depending on seasonality and availability, but just some examples of the kind of thing you’ll be cooking are Moules a la Crème, Tian of Crab with Granny Smith Apple and Tomato Concasse, Seafood Bisque, and Oysters with Devon Cider Sabayon… Beautiful dishes that let the incredible flavour of the seafood shine.
It’s an intensive but fun - and very delicious – course, that will give you plenty of impressive new meals to add to your dinner party repertoire - this full day seafood cookery course in Devon will leave seafood lovers and budding chefs reeling!
This full day Seafood and Shellfish Cookery class runs on selected midweek dates throughout the year - usually once per month.

Everyone is welcome to take part in this cookery class.
You must be able to responsibly handle sharp knifes and hot
pans. If you are unsure about your ability to take part in the
lesson, please feel free to get in touch.
If you have any severe allergies or dietary requirements, please alert the cookery school upon booking and they will be happy to discuss dish possibilities.

This is a full day seafood cookery course, lasting for approximately 7 hours in total.
Your day will start at 9:30am, finishing at around 4:30pm -
please note that you'll need to arrive around 10 minutes before you
are due to begin,
Hot and cold beverages will be available throughout your cooking experience. Your day also includes a lunch break in the middle of the day, whereby you'll eat some of the delicious dishes you've already made.
During your class, you could be making a selection of the following dishes:
Tian of Crab with Granny Smith Apple, a Lime Vinaigrette and Tomato Concasse,
Moules a la Creme,
Oysters with Devon Cider Sabayon,
Seafood Bisque with Rouille Croutons,
21st Century Prawn Cocktail.

You will join a group of participants for your cookery class.
This course is not suitable for spectators, however, there is plenty to do in the historic quayside.
All cooking equipment required will be provided by the school for your experience.
Please wear suitable clothing and comfy shoes, as you will be on your feet throughout your experience - open-toed shoes are not appropriate in the kitchen.
Please be prepared to tie long hair back.
Your sea food and shell fish cookery class takes place in a newly refurbished cookery school, so should not be affected by the weather. However, if the experience is cancelled by the school due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to reschedule for an alternative date.
