Enjoy this fantastic 1 day course in the art of Glass Making.
With just one other student on the course this an extremely
personal and fascinating day. You will be using state-of-the-art
equipment under the instruction of a professional glass maker
ensuring you progress quickly and produce your own piece of
beautiful glass, this session is tailored to you, so you will
develop and progress your glass making skills and techniques at a
pace that entirely suits you. By the end of the day you will even
get to try your hand at glass blowing.Your glass making experience
will begin at 10.30am with a welcome to the studio by your
professional glass making instructor. After a short safety brief
and introduction to the equipment you will be using, you will begin
by learning to gather glass from the furnace, shaping and applying
colour. After a short break for lunch, you will start to put the
skills you learnt in the morning session into practice as you make
a piece to take home such as a paper weight. You'll also try your
hand at the art of glass blowing and create a small bowl or vase
that you can keep as a memento of your day.
Please note: Your piece will not be available to take home on the day as it will need to fired in the kiln for hardening.
This experience is available one to two weekends a month from
January - May and September - December.
Dates are genrally released one month in advance.

This Glass Making Experience is for two participants. You will be the only participants taking the class on the day.
Comfortable clothing (will get hot and dirty). Avoid flammable
materials. Trousers (no skirts)
Participants may wish to bring other clothing to change into at the end of the day.
This experience is not effected by the weather.
