Learn to create beautiful glass objects and develop glass blowing skills during this introductory class held in Wiltshire. You will learn techniques from a professional and create a beautiful hanging glass sphere, a paperweight and a vase to decorate your home.
Glass blowing is a wonderful skill. Truly creative and highly unusual, working with glass to make stunning glass objects is a rewarding art form, and this introductory class is sure to have you hooked! Your class begins with an introduction from an experienced artist who will be your workshop leader. You’ll then work on your designs and with the help of the instructor you will gather, form and make your very own unique glass masterpieces. This full day class includes a short break for lunch, where you can enjoy your own packed lunch or purchase a light lunch (delivered from the local farm shop) from the glassblowing centre. At the end of the session, you will walk away with a thorough understanding of the techniques used to create blown glass and an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime. Your creations will need to cool, so you can arrange a pick up time or pay for them to be posted to you after your glass blowing experience.
Glass Blowing is a fantastic skill for anyone looking to learn something new! This introductory full day course makes a marvellous experience gift for those looking to develop their creative skills or for anyone who has an interest in the skill of glass blowing.
The glass making workshop in Wiltshire tends to run on 1 or 2 Fridays and Saturdays per month, throughout the year.

This glass blowing experience requires care and concentration, and whilst there is no specific minimum age, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Due to the cooling process required in glass making, you will need to return at a later date in order to collect your creations.
Alternatively, your work can be packaged and sent out for a cost of £20.00 - this covers all postage and packaging fees.
This full day experience includes hot and cold beverages, but not lunch.
Please bring your own lunch along on the day or pre-order a lunch for £7.50 upon booking your date with the centre.

This experience is not suitable for non-participating guests.
This is an indoor experience so please dress comfortably in clothes that allow freedom of movement without being too loose - no long, baggy sleeves.
You MUST wear closed toe shoes - no flip flops or sandals.
All basic tools, equipment and materials will be provided on the day. You'll also be provided with safety glasses, kevlar sleeves and protective gloves.

This is an indoor glass making experience, so should not be affected by any adverse weather conditions.
This Glass Blowing 1 Day Beginners Class will be held at a location in Trowbridge, close to Bath. It is not easily accessible by public transport.
