Dunsfold Driving Experiences
Dunsfold Aerodrome was built by the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Under the control of the Canadian Airforce and RAF, it was home to Curtiss Tomahawks, Spitfires, and Typhoons, before being decommissioned, in 1946.Since 2002, the runway has been used as the Top Gear test track. The layout of the 1.75-mile circuit was designed to put cars through their paces in a variety of conditions. Many sections – like the flat-out ‘Follow Through’ and occasionally spectacular ‘Gambon’ – were devised by Lotus test drivers, and will be familiar to fans of the show.
