Stand Up Paddleboarding, or SUP as many like to call it, is the latest trend to take the water world by storm. As we woke to a beautiful sunny Sunday morning, we were extremely looking forward to our SUP/Surfing lesson with the wonderful Surf Steps. With a short 5-minute drive to the sea front, we soon saw the sandy beach and glistening blue sea.
On the 12th of July, Willow and I jumped in a taxi and headed off to Brighton Marina, where Lagoon Watersports and their team were expecting our arrival! As we walked through the Marina, we admired the dozens of magnificent boats creating such a beautiful sight for the many restaurants surrounding the water. Tucked down amongst the boats was a petite blue and white hut, with a big sign reading ‘Lagoon Watersports’! Immediately the excitement struck, and we found ourselves speed walking down the ramp.
Last week we were lucky enough to be invited down to Shamrock Quay in Southampton to ride some of the UK’s most unique Powerboating experiences. I’m not sure what we all expected, but it certainly went above and beyond any regular boating trip! The Honda 150 (a powerful racing machine) and the Jet Viper (a yellow giant that is the only one of its type in the UK) were the boats on schedule for the day, and we couldn’t wait to try them out!
