Tiger Moth Flight Dambusters Run

Take to the skies in the Tiger Moth and fly the same training route as the WWII pilots training for the 'Dambuster' missions. In full 1940's uniform take the controls and fly this legendary plane!

Enjoy a flight in the legendary 1940's Tiger Moth Bi-Plane and embark on your own rendition of one of history's most famous aviation missions as you fly the same practice route as the heroic 'Dambuster' pilots over the Derwent Dam. To make sure you feel the part, you will be kitted out in an authentic WWII pilots uniform and receive a pre flight briefing covering the flight plan and what to expect in the air. During the flight you will have the opportunity to take the controls yourself and experience flying this historic plane!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the airfield, your experience will begin with getting changed into the authentic 1940's pilots uniform and attend a pre-flight briefing. As you make your way out to the aircraft, there will be a chance to pose for a photo in front of the legendary Bi-Plane which you will be presented with after the flight. As you get into the cockpit, the pilot will make the final checks before taking off and heading towards the dam. Once safely in the air, the pilot will hand the controls over to you and you will get some great hands on flying time. After the flight, you will be presented with a commemorative certificate and the photo that was taken previously.

Minimum Age: 13
Please do not wear high heels.

The flight will last around an hour, but please allow around 2 hours at the centre.

Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the ground.

The experience is available throughout the year from 9am until sunset.

You will be kitted out in authentic World War 2 fighter pilots uniforms.
Please wear sensible shoes (no high heels).

This experience can be affected by adverse weather. Please call the centre on the day to check your flight is going ahead.
