Surfing is perhaps the purest of all the extreme sports, it has an iconic status and proud history. There is a certain romance in surfing which comes from man harnessing some of the world's most beautiful and powerful natural forces. Millions of people around the world surf and it isn't as hard to learn as you may think, you need to learn the basics correctly from the start and then it's all practice, practice, practice. Our Improver course is designed for people who have mastered the basics and looking to hone their skills under the expert tuition and guidance of a qualified instructor. We have selected some of the UK's finest surfing locations and with our British Surfing Association qualified coaches you can expect to receive the best possible instruction to ensure that you will progress as fast as possible. This course is suitable for those that have a lesson or two under their belt and looking to develop new skills under the watchful eye of an instructor.

The surfing improver course is designed for people who have done some surfing before and looking to refine techniques, whilst given the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe environment under the watchful eye of an Instructor. With the Improver lessons, you will learn about how to turn, catch unbroken waves, surf etiquette, surfing further out, suitable equipment for yourself, surfing conditions, and generally build on your surfing repertoire in a safe and fun environment. The course comprises of two lessons, each lasting about 2 hours, which can be taken back to back, or over a couple of days. We recommend that you don’t leave too much of a gap between lessons, so that things are still fresh. After this course you will be well on your way to being a certified surf dude!

Age Restrictions: Min age is 8 (Under18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
You must be comfortable in the water and able to swim.

This surfing experience is spread over two lessons, which each last about 2 hours.

There will be a maximum of 10 students per instructor. Spectators are welcome to watch from the shore!

Surfing is available all year (it's cold in the winter though!)

You will be provided with a wetsuit and surf board. You will need to bring a swim suit & towel, sun block if it is hot and a change of warm clothes if it's not. Feel free to take your own wetsuit if you own one.

Surfing courses can be weather dependent and in extreme circumstances the course may be affected. Please check with the centre prior to arrival.
