Silverstone Rookie Ride

Get your motor running, but before you hit the highway like a Bat Out of Hell it's a good idea to make sure you know the basics. Motorcycling is not only an exciting motor-sport, it's also an accessible and inexpensive way to get around and with petrol and insurance costs soaring, it's a good time to think about swapping 4 wheels for 2. This fantastic experience will help you learn the skills required to ride a motorbike safely on the track and on the road. Using the world famous Silverstone circuit as your base, your instructor will take you through the nuts and bolts of motorcycling. A range of different challenges will help build your confidence, readying you for an advanced course. You'll spend 1.5 hours mastering the first steps towards an exciting and secure future in Motorbiking.

Brackley

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre you will start the day with a safety briefing from a Silverstone Instructor. Once briefed, you'll be ready to begin the practical session, which will last for around an hour, during which you'll be introduced to the controls of the bike and learn how to get the scooter rolling and stopping safely. You will then practice controlling the scooter at low speeds, riding around a simple course. When you are ready you will gradually build up speed and try a more advanced course lay out. By the end of the day you will hopefully be ready to progress on to one of the more advanced courses!

Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst on site.

The experience will last for around 1.5hours, on a 1:2 Instructor to Student ratio.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch, however if the date co-insides with a major event - only one car pass will be issued for entry in to the circuit.

This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year.

You should wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, and flat soled shoes. All safety equipment is supplied by the centre on the day.

Extreme weather conditions may affect whether you can drive on the day, in which case a more suitable date will be arranged with the centre.
