Silverstone driving experiences are usually reserved for those with driving licences, but that's not to say that the young'uns can't enjoy a bit of skill learning and driving improvement at the home of the British Grand Prix. With a professional instructor, a Renault Clio and a big open space - they can improve the confidence beyond all means and prep their driving minds ready for the DVLA in a few years! A great fun experience that will provide great benefit to their driving ability in later life.

The Silverstone Rookie Junior Drive will begin with a quick safety brief and introduction to the equipment and instructor for the day. Then, once briefed it will be time to don the race gear and hit the junior track for some basic skills-learning techniques and manoeuvres - from clutch control to braking steadily; they'll be practicing the fundamentals with a professional instructor. With 25mins of actual driving time and up to 3 other students enjoying the experience - the advice and techniques will be rife and unavoidable for their sponge-esque young minds that need filling with information!

Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst on site.

The Silverstone Rookie Drive will last for around 2 hours, with about 30minutes of actual driving time.

Spectators are welcome to watch (so long as the date doesn't coincide with a pre-arranged Silverstone event)>

Lessons are run on 3-1 instructor to student ratio.

Silverstone Rookie Drive is available twice per month on weekends.

Wear comfortable, casual clothes with soft soled flat shoes.

Extreme weather conditions may cause the Silverstone Rookie Drive to be rescheduled. Please phone the centre on the day if unsure.
