RYA Windsurfing Course

Master the art of windsurfing and complete your RYA level 1 certificate. The qualified instructor will be on hand to help throughout the two-day course offering both land and water based tuition, including in-depth sessions about the basic principles of harnessing the wind and improving your core balance. You will learn an array of manoeuvres needed to guide yourself across the 42 acre lake and by the end of day two you should have a complete understanding of the board and rig and be competent to sail up and down wind.

The RYA Windsurfing course will begin with a full safety briefing and introduction to your two-day lessons. The level 1 criteria will be discussed, along with the basic skills and techniques of windsurfing as you practice on the dry-land simulator. Now to put the theory to practice and jump in the water. You will learn an array of skills and manoeuvres over the two days from improving your core stability to moving the rig to change your speeds. By day two you will be able to sail across the lake in all directions and have a complete understanding of the board and rig. Your experience will draw to a close with a de-brief back at the centre, including a discussion of the techniques learnt and presentation of your personalised certificate.

Minimum Age: 16
Please let the centre know if you are not confident within the water.
If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

The RYA course takes approximately 2 full days to complete.

This experience is great for both individuals and groups alike.
Spectators welcome.

The experience is available on selected dates throughout the year, normally weekend availability.

Please bring a swimsuit, towel, sun cream and a warm change of clothes to the centre.
All specialised equipment will be provided by the centre.
