RYA Powerboat Level 2

Experience the magic of Powerboating with this brilliantly eductional 2 day course. Gain the theory an dthe practical knowledge en route to gaining your ICC & RYA L2 certification.

By the end of this fantastic two day RYA level 2 Powerboat course you will be equipped with the required knowledge to be a competent powerboat driver. You will be out on the water enjoying the brilliance of powerboating for 2 days in the beautiful natural harbour of Poole. The course is a mix of classroom based theory and on water practical to ensure you get the most out of the course.

Poole

This 2 day course will cover both the theory and the practical elements of Powerboating, and will equip you with all of the essential knowledge en route to gaining your RYA ICC (International Certification of Competence) & RYA Level 2 Certifications for boats of under 10 metres. Day one will begin with a welcome introduction to the boats & instructors, before getting into the safety gear and getting ready for a fantastic 2 day course learning how to control these great boats, and just how enjoyable it can be with the theory & practical knowledge. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided all day on board the boats.

• Safety Equipment on the Boat
• Launching & Recovery

Practical:

• Handling at Low & High Speed
• Picking Up & Securing to a Buoy
• Anchoring
• Leaving & Coming Alongside a Pontoon / Jetty
• Man Overboard Recovery
• Pilotage & Compass Use
• Application of Collision Regulations & Bylaws
• Towing & Basic Maintenance

Minimum Age: 12-16

Certification endorsed for adult supervision only.

This is a 2 day course, from 09:00-17:00 on both days.

Spectators can watch from dry land, but is usually one per person and must be arranged at the time of booking.

Available every weekend and on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays throughout the year.

All waterproofs and safety gear is provided.
