RYA Level 1 Dinghy Sailing - Weymouth

Take to the seas in style with this fantastic 2 day RYA L1 course, split over 2 days and with great emphasis on the basic sailing technique development and progression from there.

This is the perfect opportunity fro any would be sailor to take to the water and give it a go, as no previous experience is required. Your expert instructors will teach you everything you need to know to pass your RYA Level 1 and be on your way to taking on the higher levels. The waters around Weymouth are a favourite with sailors thanks to the the beautiful surroundings and safe waters making this the perfect location to give the exciting art of sailing a try.

Once you have arrived and have been welcomed to the centre your RYA L1 Dinghy Sailing will begin with a safety brief and introduction to the equipment that you will be using on this fantastic 2 day course, along with the sailing techniques that you will mastering. With the emphasis laid upon trying to master the basic techniques, your two day course will pit you in the Stratos or Bahia, learning how to control the boat and sail on the open water by yourself. The RYA L1 is also suitable for people who have sailed in the past and would like to blow the cobwebs away with a 'refresher' course. It is recomended that all participants do the Level 1 and shortly follow on to the Level 2 course.

Minimum Age: 17

Participants must be able to swim 50m comfortably. This level one course is for complete beginners and is suitable for people who havent been sailing before.

The RYA L1 Course will last two days over one weekend.

Qualification that can be gained: RYA Level 1.

Spectators are welcome however please check when booking.

There is a restaurant and cafe onsite where you can purchase a range of food and drink.

The RYA L1 Course runs most weekends from March to November.

It is advised to bring Swim wear to put under your wetsuit (which is provided on the day) and footwear which you are happy to get wet.

This activity is weather dependent, so please phone the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.
