Rock Climbing & Abseil Taster

Experience the great outdoors with this fantastic Rock Climbing and Abseiling activity day in Wales. Spend half a day climbing up and Abseiling back down as you get to grips with this awesome day!

Experience two of the best outdoor pursuits in one simple bundle! Climb and Abseil your way through the Welsh terrain with your qualified instructor. Explore the fantastic surroundings and feel the adrenaline pump as you drop down rock faces. Listen to your heart race with excitement as you reach the top of the gorge and experience the extreme thrills of this highly stimulating and unique activity! Perfect for individuals and groups alike.

Llangollen

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your experience will begin with a safety brief and introduction to the equipment that you are to use. Then, you will learn how to move about on the rock, calculating weight transference and how to use your legs more effectively. Next you will be shown how to belay (control the rope) and then you will be climbing on some of the classic beginner routes in the vale of Llangollen. These routes will allow you to practice what you have learnt while bouldering. After bouldering you will finish off with some abseiling - the classic way to get down the cliffs.

Please Note: You will be required to use your own transport to get to and from the activity sites. If you will not have transport available you must let the centre know AT THE TIME OF BOOKING A DATE.

Minimum Age: 14
You must have a basic level of fitness for this experience.
Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

This experience will last for half a day.

Spectators may attend the Rock Climbing session but, for their own safety and that of others, must stay clear of the top and bottom of the crag and climbing areas – our instructors will show you a safe area from which to spectate. Photographs may be taken from the bottom of the crag only – not from the top.

The Rock Climbing & Abseil Taster is available all year round, on weekdays and on weekends.

All specialist equipment such as harness and helmet will be provided by the centre. You need to wear sensible outdoor clothing (no jeans) and sturdy trainers, and take a set of waterproofs just in case it rains.

Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience from going ahead. Please call the centre on the day.
