The RAPS (Ram-Air-Progression-System) course is a great way for complete beginners to experience the thrill of parachuting! With a full-day intense tuition, you will learn all you need to know to guide yourself safely back to earth after jumping out of an aeroplane at 3,500ft! Your parachute will automatically open as you feel the wind rush passed! Run through your safety checks and guide the parachute to the landing area with your qualified instructor on radio communication throughout the jump! This is the perfect course for anyone interested in progressing to Solo Free Fall or simply an incredible weekend activity!

Day One
Your RAPS Parachute Jump experience begins with a welcome to the centre and have meet your instructors, your first day will begin with a full safety briefing and introduction to parachuting equipment. Ground training will consist of practising how to exit the aircraft, how to control and direct the parachute and finally how to touch down in control and safely. The day will end with a question and answer session lead by your instructor.


Day two
Jump day! Your instructor will welcome you back to the centre and issue you with your jumpsuit, parachute and other safety equipment. One last practice run on the ground before its time to get on-board the plane and climbed to a height of 3,500ft! There will be just enough time to take in the view before the light turn green and its time to jump! Your parachute will automatically open using the RAPS system and its up to you, with radio help from your instructor, to guide yourself back to the landing zone. The experience will draw to a close with a de-brief from you instructor about your jump and the skill you have learnt.

Minimum Age: 16 (Under 18s require parental consent)
Maximum Age: 50+ (generally not accepted for this jump)
Maximum Weight: 15 Stone (may vary between dropzones)
If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

If you are over 40 or have a medical condition that may affect your ability to freefall or parachute safely, you will require a doctors certificate to be completed in advance.
On the day of the jump ALL skydivers will be required to complete the British Parachute Association Student Parachutist Declaration of Fitness.
A reasonable level of fitness and agility is required, and all students must be within their recommended Body Mass Index (height in proportion to weight)

You should allow two full days to complete this course.

This experience is great for both individuals and groups alike.
Spectators are welcome to come and watch.

This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year depending upon weather.

All specialist equipment such as helmet, goggles and jumpsuit will be provided.
If it is a cold day wrap up warm but not too bulky as you will wear the jumpsuit over your clothes.
On a hot day a t-shirt and trousers/shorts are ample.
Trainers are recommended. Do NOT wear any open shoes, such as sandals.
Goggles fit comfortably over your glasses, and contact lenses are no problem.

This experience is dependent upon wind speed and visibility levels.
The first day will normally go ahead as planned as it is classroom based, however if you are unable to jump, another date will be arranged.
Please call the centre before you leave on the morning of your jump to check weather conditions are suitable.
