Experience the thrill of Microlight Flying at Redlands Airfield, where you can take to the skies of Swindon and Wiltshire at 2,000ft - on an unforgettable flight over the picturesque countryside, starting from any of the 750m, 407m and 274m runway straights at the great Airfield. With an experienced instructor at the controls, you'll take to the skies for a 20-30 minute flight with stunning visuals and an incredible sense of appreciation for what is below, taking in aerial views as far as the eye can see.

Swindon

Your Microlight Flying Experience in Swindon and Wiltshire will begin with a welcome to Redlands Airfield, where your instructor for the day will introduce you to the grounds, the Microlight and the essential protocols of Microlighting in these areas. After a final pre-flight check, you'll make your way to the runway and take to the skies ready for a 20-30 minute flight, encompassing some of the fantastic scenic countryside below. If the conditions allow it, your instructor may even let you take the controls and get some hands on experience! Once safely landed, the instructor will debrief and provide advice on the next stages - then you can take home your commemorative certificate to remember the day with.

Microlighting in Swindon will generally last for near 2 hours, with around 20-30 minutes spent in the air (depending on weather conditions).

Family and friends are welcome to watch your memorable Microlight Trial Flight - and should bring a camera!

Children must be supervised at all times and no pets are allowed on the airfield unfortunately.

Microlighting in Swindon takes place mainly on weekdays from February to November.

All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

You should wear layers and dress for the weather. In the summer you should bring sunglasses and suncream, and in the winter bring some woollies!

Microlighting is of course very weather dependent.

Customers must call us for a weather check on the morning of their flight, whatever the forecast.You should check with the centre on the day, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) to ensure it is going ahead.
