Flying a Microlight over the coast of Liverpool, Lancashire and the other spectacular patchwork countryside is an experience worthy of a wait, as the quite stunning visuals of Liverpool, West Lancashire's coast and the views of The Lake District and even North Wales make for quite splendid viewing when soaring through the clouds at 2,000ft. Taking off from Ince Blundell Airfield, your unforgettable Microlighting experience will have you exposed to the most awe-inspiring of scenic views of Merseyside's award winning city of Liverpool - and many other famous British landscapes as your fly through the skies at speeds of up to 70mph!

Your Microlighting trail flight will begin at Ince Blundell Airfield, where you'll have a safety and technique brief covering the protocols and essentials of flying a Microlight. Then, once briefed and ready to start the aerial adventure, you'll take to the runway and lift off up to the height of 2,000ft with your instructor at the helm - where you are free to take in the most incredible views of the country's coastal contours and much more. With a total flight length of around 20-30 minutes, if the conditions permit and the instructor allows - you can take the controls and actually fly the historically designed flying machine yourself! Once the flying experience nears its finish and you are safely back on the ground, you'll be presented with a commemorative certificate to remember your day with and conduct a quick post-flight-check.

Your Microlighting Experience from Liverpool's Ince Blundell Airfield should take around 2 hours, with somewhere near 20-30 minutes spent in the air actually flying the Microlight.

Spectators are more than welcome to wave you off on the start of your Microlight experience, and can welcome you back to terra firma with cameras catching every moment of it!

There is however a no pets allowed rule in operation at the airfield, and under 18s must be accompanied by a non-participating adult.

Microlighting in Liverpool & West Lancashire is available on selected weekdays and weekends from February to November.

You should wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little roughed up on your Microlighting experience.

All safety equipment is provided at the centre.

Weather plays a big part in Microlighting - so please ensure you speak to the centre to ensure it is going ahead.

You can do this by calling the centre on the day (before 09.30) or on the evening before to ensure it is going ahead.
