Microlighting in Essex is up there with the most visually spectacular of flying experiences, as the glorious London landscapes provide the ideal backdrop to your 2,000ft flight above Capital City! Taking off from Damyns Hall Airfield in Essex, you will begin your ascent with the instructor at the controls - powering the microlight up to the desired height where you can enjoy an incredible set of views as far as the eye can see. With a number of champions operating at the centre, you're in good hands as you soar through the skies at close to 60mph.

Upminster

Your Microlighting trial flight in Damyns Hall will begin with a welcome and safety brief, covering the essential flying protocols and what to expect on your unforgettable flight over Essex and the Thames! After a preflight check, you and the instructor will be on the runway, ready to launch to the height of 2,000ft where you'll be have nothing but magnificent views of the surrounding countryside - for around 20-30 glorious minutes. If the conditions allow it, you may even have the opportunity to take the controls yourself and fly the microlight! Then, once the flight is coming to a close, you'll land the aircraft, perform a post flight check and finish the experience with a certificate to commemorate your day.

Your Microlighting Experience near London will last for around 20-30 minutes, but expect to be at the centre for around 2 hours.

Friends and family are welcome to watch your microlight flight over Damyns Hall, and can enjoy the sight from a viewing area.

There is however a no pets allowed rule, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Damyns Hall Microlighting is available on selected weekdays and weekends from February to November.

You should wear casual clothes that you don't mind getting a little muddy or dirty.

All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

The weather has a big impact upon Microlighting, as when visibility is too low or winds are too high - it becomes very difficult.

Please call the centre on the day (before 09.30) or on the evening before to ensure it is going ahead.
