Experience the extreme natural high of Microlighting in Derbyshire and go some way to realising man's ultimate dream of flight! With centuries of failed attempts, the last few hundred years has seen us finally conquest the celestial challenge of flight - with the break through in design made by Leonardo da Vinci particularly relevant. Although not identical, the flying machine definitely laid the foundations for what was to come, and the Microlight in particular - which makes for a spectacular day in the skies. With an instructor present and nothing but glorious countryside as far as the eye can see, you'll be piloting the magnificent vehicle through the clouds at close to 60mph!

Your Microlighting experience will begin with a welcome introduction covering the grounds, instructor and magnificent Microlight you'll be piloting on this great flying activity day. Then, once briefed you'll be ready to do one last pre-flight check before hitting the skies for an unforgettable flight, piloting a fixed or flexi wing Microlight with an expert in the cockpit alongside you. With nothing but spectacular countryside all around, you'll be enjoying the most tranquil of atmospheres - at 2,000ft! With a top speed of around 60mph, you'll be soaring with the birds at an incredible height on the most unforgettable of flying days! Depending on the weather and what your instructor makes of the conditions, you may even get to fly the Microlight yourself!

Maximum Weight: 16 stone

Your Microlight experience will last for around 2 hours, with around 20mins actually in the air.

Spectators are welcome to watch your Microlighting experience from a designated viewing area.

There is however a no pets rule in operation at the airfields.

Microlighting is available from May to October on selected weekdays and weekends (nearly all except Monday & Wednesdays)

It is advised that you wear comfortable clothes that can be removed in layers. Throughout the year, it gets pretty chilly 2,000ft in the air!

All safety equipment is supplied by the centre.

Flying a Microlight is a weather dependent activity - you must check with the centre before setting off to ensure your flight is going ahead.

Customers must call for a weather check on the morning of the flight, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.
