Kitesurfing is one of the most exciting and exhilarating sports around today. It has exploded on to the Extreme Sports scene over the past five years; it takes the best from a range of water sports like surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and paragliding. With the introduction of modern equipment and a structured approached to learning which is developed by the International Kitesurfing Organisation (IKO) and taught by IKO and British Kite Surfing Organisation (BKSA) approved instructors, learning to Kitesurf has never been easier on Cornwall's beautiful beaches. Our 1 Day Introduction to Kitesurfing Course is your way in to one of the fastest growing sports of the 21st century and the perfect way to get a taste of this great extreme sport, you don’t need any experience at all to take part, all you need is the enthusiasm!

This one day course will give you all the fundamentals of kiteflying and give you an introduction to all the equipment, kiteboards, kitesurf kites and safety. The fun really starts when you hit the water and start practicing body dragging, this is when you will really start to appreciate the power that these kites generate. By the end of the day, depending on your progress, you might start putting your new skills together and start attempting some board starts.
No Maximum or Minimum Height Size - But you will need to fit into a harness, please check with the centre when booking

Participants must be comfortable in the water.

Please note that dates are never fully guaranteed due to the dependency on weather.
The course will last five to six hours. The start times vary due to tide times.
Group sizes vary but will usually be 2 - 4 students per instructor. Spectators are welcome but please listen to the instructors as to where the safest place to stand and watch is.
Most of our kitesurfing centres are open from March - November but bear in mind that the water temperature in the months of December, January and February can get a little chilly! Courses take place most weekends and during the week.
All equipment will be supplied - this includes kite, board, wetsuit, harness and helmet. You just need to take a change of dry clothes, a swimming costume and a towel. If you have your own kit and want to use it for the lessons please check with the centre first.
Kitesurfing is a weather dependent sport. Basically you need wind & tides! Please contact the centre either on the day to confirm.
